Bill - if you find a way, let me know. I have a feeling it'll be location specific though. I think the MLS is set up different in each city and ways of accessing it will be different.

I haven't tried this in a while, but I'm sure you can search a public version of the MLS from the realtor's web site (www.realtor.com I think). You can pull up listings based on what you specify, but I don't think there is a way to pull this information into a database or spread sheet that I'm aware of. It is set up to only display via html and a web browser. I'm not fluent in html and web programming so there may be a way to pull this info out if a program is written. Problem with this site is you generally don't get owner's names and addresses; only the RE agent's contact info.

The best way to get access to the MLS is by joining (if your local MLS group lets outsiders join; ours doesn't) or by befriending an agent and either letting him/her pull the info for you or adding you as an assistant to their team which would then authorize you access to the MLS. This is the way I'm going to try; I've already verified that this is allowable in our area. Now I just need to find an RE agent I can trust.

Sorry I can't be of more help. Maybe John will see this and chime in.

Rich
