math question (book 1, p11)

Hello. On the top matrix of p.11, the investor" is left with $11,488.62 to invest. How did you get this number? - Along those lines, my only criticism of the course is that the math behind many numbers is never explained. Aside from the obvious TVM calculations, John seems to insert many numbers "out of nowhere" ($11, 468.62 for ex) and overestimates our newbie math abilities. Please release a supplemental schedule that explains the math!
